Giving Back During Uncertainty

With everything going on with COVID-19, I decided to design and create custom face masks with a purpose. For every mask purchased, I have been able to donate a mask to workers in my community. Local Hospital employees, postal workers, and more. Being able to give back to my local community in Connecticut has been rewarding and fulfilling. For today’s post, I want to share 3 reasons why I believe it’s important to give back to your local community.

  1. A sense of purpose: Words can’t express how it feels to wake up each day knowing you’ve done something or are about to do something meaningful. You look forward to each time you affect positive change on people who have touched your hearts. Being able to make a positive contribution to your local community, allows you to choose where and how you want to make a difference. It’s so easy to get inspired with a cause you truly care about—especially when you can use your talents to impact others.
  2. Stronger communities: Building a strong community means safer, healthier lives for you and those around you. Whether you decide to clean up a street, donate close to a local shelter, or read to kids at the local library, you naturally enhance your own life by improving the lives of other people in the areas where you work, live and play.
  1. Gain a new perspective: Life can feel challenging and when you’re feeling down, your problems can seem to weigh you down. Giving back by donating items or volunteering your time can offer a new perspective—seeing people whose lives you are impacting directly, will help you see your life and purpose in a whole new light.

When you give more, you feel joyful and it really makes an impact in your life and people around you.

When you give more, you become more selfless and less selfish.

Stay safe,
